Dutch Guitar Foundation

ANBI Statement

The Dutch Guitar Foundation has a ‘Cultural ANBI’ status. By granting an ANBI status, the government wants to stimulate donations to culture.

Because the Dutch Guitar Foundation has the status ‘Cultural ANBI’, this offers additional benefits for you as a donor: Donors of cultural ANBIs are entitled to an additional gift deduction. Private individuals may deduct 1.25 times the amount of the gift in their income tax return. Companies that are subject to corporate tax may deduct 1.5 times the amount of the gift in their corporate tax return.

The board members perform their duties without remuneration. Only the costs they incur are reimbursed. The chairman and treasurer are authorised to make payments with mutual consent.

The articles of association of the Dutch Guitar Foundation stipulate that the board members are not authorised to enter into agreements in which the foundation binds itself as a surety or joint and several debtor, makes itself liable for a third party or commits itself to providing security for the debt of another.

Objective:

The Dutch Guitar Foundation aims to realise the following projects for the coming year:

  • Organisation of the ‘Groningen Guitar Competition and Festival’.
  • Organisation of two guitar series (Groningen and Zwolle) in which three concerts are organised per season. The concerts are exclusively given by guitarists with an international status.
  • Organisation of masterclasses and lectures
  • Organisation of projects in which possibilities are sought to use the classical guitar in a multidisciplinary way.

The above-mentioned activities take place in the city of Groningen, with the exception of a guitar series in Zwolle. In addition, the foundation wants to seek connections with partners in the rest of the Netherlands in the coming three years. This can result in cooperation in the field of the festival, cooperation by organising multiple guitar series spread across the Netherlands and cooperation in the field of masterclasses.

Finances:

In the run-up to the first event, the foundation uses the following channels to generate money:

  • Via funds
  • Via sponsors
  • Via a ‘circle of friends’ that is to be built up and that donates annually
  • Via crowdfunding
  • Via partners that, for example, make locations available free of charge
