Masterclasses

Every guitarist, no matter how experienced or skilled, has questions about technical or musical performance. The better you master the pieces you play, the better you know what you want to express. During the Groningen Guitar Festival, the masterclasses offer a perfect opportunity to learn about musical interpretation, tone production and expression from some of the world’s leading guitarists.

Anyone can apply for masterclasses, regardless of age, level of playing, or level of education – every classical guitarist is welcome to join us! So yes, amateurs are welcome also!

How to enroll

To enroll for the masterclasses you have to register for the festival either as a student, a competitor, or in our youth competition. In all cases, you will receive two, forty-minute, masterclasses, with two artists of your choice.

If a particular artist gets overbooked, we will schedule your lesson with your next masterclass choice. So, please fill in all your preferred choices in the application form and remember to sign up early to maximise your chances of getting your 1st choice.
