About the concert
Join us for a unique and unforgettable evening celebrating the guitar. We are thrilled to present two of the most brilliant guitarists of their generation in one unforgettable concert.
This special event will be presented in two halves, offering a rare opportunity to experience the unique voices of two wonderful artists.
Kristina Vårlid treats the guitar as a "magical treasure," and her creative, deeply personal approach to music has won her international acclaim. Her debut album, "An Idea," was named Norwegian Classical Album of the Year by Klassekampen one of the largest newspapers in the country, who praised her "musicianship that takes your breath away."
Kristina has appeared as a soloist with major ensembles like the Bergen Philharmonic and Stavanger Symphony Orchestras. She is a winner of the Antwerpen International Guitar Competition and, in addition to her busy concert schedule, serves as a professor of guitar at the Prince Claus Conservatoire in Groningen and is a doctoral fellow at the University of Agder where she also teaches.
Raphaël Feuillâtre is a winner of the prestigious Guitar Foundation of America and has a career marked by historic achievements. In 2022, he was signed as an exclusive artist by the Deutsche Grammophon label, one of the very few guitarists in history to receive this distinction.
Following his acclaimed 2023 debut at New York's Carnegie Hall, his "Visages Baroques" album and subsequent tours have captivated audiences in the world's most illustrious venues, from the Amsterdam Concertgebouw to the Beethoven Haus in Bonn. He is also a passionate educator and collaborator, Raphaël's playing combines flawless technique with profound musicality.
