About the concert
Adriano Del Sal is one of the most important young artists of recent years. The extraordinary musical talent and deep artistic sensitivity, as well as his overall technical mastery of the instrument make his performances unforgettable … a true virtuoso on his instrument.
Born in 1977, he began his guitar studies with Stefano Viola at the J.Tomadini – Conservatory in Udine, where he graduated in 1999. At the same time he attended courses at the F.Tarrega Academy in Pordenone where he continued his musical education with Stefano Viola and Paolo Pegoraro.
He attended many master classes with important concert guitarists such as David Russel, Manuel Barrueco, Stefano Grondona, Alberto Ponce, Angelo Gilardino and Carlo Marchione. He won the first prize 12 times at international competitions. As a result of winning the international competition ‘Julian Arcas’ in Almeria (Spain), his first solo CD was recorded for the ‘Radio Nacional de Espana’. In 2003 he received the award ‘La chitarra d’oro’ in Alessandria (Italy) as the best international young concert artist of the year.
In 2004 he won the first prize at the prestigious international competition ‘Città di Alessandria’. He is also the winner of the historic ‘Certamen F. Tarrega’ competition in Benicassim (Spain) of the year 2009.
Adriano Del Sal has performed at most of the important international festivals in Italy, Germany, Mexico, Russia, Ukraine and Slovenia. In 2001, David Russel described him as “one of the best concert guitarists of the present day”. He currently teaches at the Segovia Guitar Accademy in Pordenone, and since the autumn of 2015 he has been professor at the Musik-UNI in Vienna.
